The Piano Studio
After decades of performing and teaching in Europe and Canada, I now maintain a small, selective studio for students who want more than technical instruction.
The work is rigorous, but not mechanical. It brings together movement, sound, practice, interpretation, performance regulation, and the gradual development of artistic identity.
My students have been recognized nationally and internationally, with performances at Carnegie Hall, Concertgebouw, the National Centre for the Performing Arts in Beijing, and Royal Albert Hall.
My studio supports:
Efficient, fluid movement at the instrument
Intentional and sustainable practice
Performance readiness and regulation
Connecting technical choices to expressive result
Expressive clarity and musical choice
Confidence that grows from real skill, not performance pressure
Admission to the studio is by audition.
“I started working with Bianca when I was 6, and left her studio when I was 18, to continue my piano studies in Austria. I came from a strict Chinese background, and my parents wanted me to have a highly-trained, methodical and inspirational piano teacher, with a rigorous approach to learning. Bianca met all of their criteria, and I embarked on my journey to learn piano “properly.” Those were amazingly transformative years, and my learning went far beyond healthy technique, style, sound quality, discipline and artistry at the instrument. It wasn’t always smooth or easy. I went through many ups and downs over those years, and through it all - growth, performance anxiety, competition wins and losses, awards, puberty, intermittent lack of commitment and rebellion, and eventually, newly found appreciation for performance and a Carnegie Hall debut, Bianca rode the waves with me with insight, patience and humour. It was hard to say goodbye, but what a gift the years in this studio have been! Bianca is such a phenomenal teacher and human being! My family and I have the fondest memories of our time with her.”
